Scenario

If only the mails that really need you reached you

Hours per week less

Assumption: only 20% of your mails would arrive. This is plain arithmetic from your inputs, not a measurement and not a promise.

01

How it is calculated

Emails per day times seconds per email gives your time per day. Multiply by working days per week and working weeks per year for the yearly total.

Workdays per year divide those hours by an 8-hour workday. The cost is the hours times the hourly value you enter.

The scenario keeps only the share of mails you set and takes the rest away. There is nothing more behind it than that subtraction.

02

Your numbers stay with you

Everything runs in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent anywhere and nothing is stored.

No account, no AI and no profile of what you type. We only count that the tool was used, together with a rough size band such as under 2 hours a week.

You can copy the result as one sentence and decide yourself where it goes.

03

What this is not

It is an estimate from your own inputs, not a measurement of your real inbox.

Not every second spent on email is lost: some mails are exactly the work you want to do. The scenario is a what-if, not a forecast.

Nolario does not promise any saving here. The scenario only shows what the arithmetic gives for the share you chose.

Questions

How much time do people spend on email each day?

There is no single number, because it depends on the job. For context: the McKinsey Global Institute report "The social economy" (2012) estimated that knowledge workers spend about 28 percent of their working week on email. Your own figure is easy to work out with the calculator above.

How do I calculate the cost of email time?

Multiply emails per day by the seconds each one takes, then by your working days per week and working weeks per year. That gives hours per year. Multiply those hours by what an hour of your time is worth to get the yearly cost.

How many emails per day are normal?

There is no reliable standard, as it varies a lot between roles and people. A better start is to count your own for a typical week: most mail apps show how many messages arrived. Then enter that number above.

Is the scenario what Nolario will save me?

No. The scenario is only a calculation: it assumes that just the share of mails you chose would reach you and subtracts the rest. It is not a measurement and not a promise from Nolario.
