Google Calendar can now show three time zones on the web: a primary, a secondary and a tertiary one. Google announced it on September 25, 2026, scheduled the rollout to finish by October 22, 2026, and offers no admin control for it. This guide gives the steps, where the extra columns appear, how it differs from the world clock, and what Google leaves unstated.

How do you show three time zones in Google Calendar?

Turn on Show additional time zones in Settings and pick a secondary and a tertiary zone. The steps below come from the Google Calendar Help page "Use Google Calendar in different time zones," which we opened on October 30, 2026, and cover the computer version.

  1. Open Google Calendar on your computer and select Settings from the menu at the top right.
  2. Under General on the left, select Time zone.
  3. Check Show additional time zones.
  4. Under Secondary time zone, select a zone.
  5. Optionally, under Tertiary time zone, select a zone.

The Help page says the additional zones appear on the left of your calendar grid. Your primary time zone is set in the same Time zone area, where you search for a city or country.

Where do the three time zones show up?

They show as labeled columns on the left of the Day, Week and Custom multi-day views, and also in the Find a time view when you create or edit an event. That is from Google's Workspace Updates post of September 25, 2026, which was updated on October 1, 2026 to change the rollout schedule.

The same post says you can add optional labels such as SFO, NYC or ZRH to tell the zones apart on the grid. The Help page we read does not describe labels, so look for them in Settings on your own account.

Extra time zones or the world clock: which should you use?

Use extra time zones when you schedule against the same two or three places every week, and the world clock when you only need to check the local time somewhere now and then. The table uses only what the two Google pages state.

The Help page also warns that events from past or future years might not reflect daylight saving time changes and could display incorrectly, so double check an event that sits across a clock change. Only a calendar's owner can change its time zone.

When does the three time zone view reach your account?

Google's schedule has the rollout complete by October 22, 2026, though feature visibility may take longer than 15 days. The announcement lists an extended rollout for Rapid Release domains from September 25, 2026, expected to finish by October 13, 2026 (moved from October 9 in the October 1 update), and a rollout for Scheduled Release domains from October 18, expected to finish by October 22, 2026.

The post itself is inconsistent on the Scheduled Release start, listing October 18 in the update note and October 19 in the rollout section, and it is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers and users with personal Google accounts.

Where does Nolario fit with multi-time-zone scheduling?

Nolario pulls Google Calendar into the same feed as Gmail, Outlook, Slack and Teams and scores each item from 0 to 100, so a meeting request is ranked next to the email and chat around it. Time zone display stays a Google Calendar setting that you change as above, and Nolario never sends a message for you. It is a desktop web app with no mobile app yet. Nolario is in early access. Access is by waitlist, joining the waitlist is free, and the product opens to waitlist members between May and August 2027.

If your travel calendar and your inbox pull in different directions, read checking Gmail, Slack and Teams without missing clients, a weekly email review routine for founders and setting an out of office message in Gmail, Outlook and Slack. The integrations page lists what Nolario connects.

Frequently asked questions

Can Google Calendar show three time zones?

Yes, on the web. Google's Workspace Updates post of September 25, 2026 says Calendar on the web now shows a primary, secondary and tertiary time zone, where it used to show a primary and a secondary one. They appear as columns on the left of the Day, Week and Custom multi-day grids and in the Find a time view.

How do I turn on a third time zone in Google Calendar?

On your computer, open Settings, go to General, then Time zone, and check Show additional time zones. Choose a Secondary time zone and, optionally, a Tertiary time zone. The Google Calendar Help page we opened on October 30, 2026 lists exactly these steps.

Is the three time zone view in the Google Calendar app?

Unconfirmed. Google's announcement says the feature is for Calendar on the web and does not mention the mobile apps, and the Help Center page gives computer steps only. Check the app yourself before you rely on it.

Do I need a Workspace admin to enable it?

No. The announcement says there is no admin control for this feature. It is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers and users with personal Google accounts.

What is the difference between extra time zones and the world clock?

Extra time zones add columns to your calendar grid. The world clock, set up under Show world clock in Settings, lets you add cities and look up their local time without changing the grid. Google's Help Center page describes both as separate settings.

Does Nolario change my Google Calendar time zones?

No. Time zone display is a Google Calendar setting you change in Calendar itself. Nolario pulls Google Calendar into one feed with Gmail, Outlook, Slack and Teams, scores each item from 0 to 100, and never sends a message for you.
